This fair trade necklace made of recycled brass is lovingly handcrafted in Nairobi. Manufactured by fairly paid artisans in a worker-owned cooperative in Kenya. It features a crescent moon pendant with a circular pendant in the centre. Jewelry from Swahili Coast.

Swahili Coast is a private label that creates sandals and accessories in partnership with artisans in East Africa. All beadwork is done by the partner cooperative in Tanzania. The worker-owned cooperative operates on a model of total transparency, with all members of the cooperative owning part of the company. They call this strategy “power over compassion”. They focus on empowering crafting partners rather than pitying them. These partners earn a decent salary and work hard to create a future for themselves and their families.
